Do I have to be referred by my regular doctor in order to see a gastroenterologist?

Our physicians encourage colorectal cancer screening for everyone over age 50, or those under 50 with a family history of colon cancer. The best screening tool is a colonoscopy procedure. Referral from a primary care physician, such as a family medicine or internal medicine specialist, is NOT necessary for an appointment to be made with one of our four gastroenterologists. Our endoscopy center is conveniently located on-site, adjacent to our gastroenterology office, and appointments may be made by calling 601-352-2273.
